Our Faculty of Medicine students organized social responsibility activities at our university hospital on the occasion of 29 October World Heart Day and 1-7 October Breastfeeding Week.
September 29 Heart Health Event
Heart diseases take the first place among the deaths by disease in the world and in our country. It is possible to prevent heart diseases with early diagnosis, regular control and a healthy lifestyle. In order to raise awareness about heart health, 4th year Medical Faculty Students organized an event at our university hospital. During the event, our doctor candidates informed our patients about heart health and performed blood pressure checks free of charge.
October 1-7 Breastfeeding Week
On the occasion of October 1-7, World Breastfeeding Week, we held an event with our 4th Grade Medical Faculty students themed “Every Drop is Valuable”. At the event, first of all, our Deputy Dean Neonatology Specialist Assoc. Prof. Bilge Bayraktar made an opening speech on the importance of breastfeeding week. Then, Baby Nurse Aybüke Avcıoğlu gave training to expecting mothers. Later, in the activity area, our students informed the expecting mothers about the importance of breast milk and breastfeeding.
